A PROJECT SINCE 2007
Established in 2007 to investigate the murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, a new Pearl Project investigation, led by co-directors Asra Q. Nomani and Orli Peter, will examine the new anti-Semitism movement, its network, propaganda operations, funding and strategic operations. After kidnapping Pearl, militants in Pakistan used Pearl’s identity as a Jew and his family history in Israel to demonize him. The Pearl Project will investigate the rise of a new brand of anti-Semitism that targets Jews and their supporters with character assassinations, smear campaigns and hate. The project will engage communities to educate them on how to identify, inoculate and combat against the new anti-Semitism and its tactics, including character assassination, smear campaigns, intimidation and bullying to silence criticism.
